SMP Racing driver Egor Orudzhev took part in the post-season tests of the Indy Lights series, which took place on October 19-20 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Grand Prix road course in the USA.
It was the first experience for Orudzhev sitting behind the wheel of a car of this series. The car was provided by the Andretti Autosport team. According to the results of the two-day tests, Egor was fourth fastest, setting the best lap time of 1:15.971 and reaching an average speed of 115.575 mph.“It was a great experience to sit behind the wheel of the Indy Lights car and drive the Indianapolis road course,” SMP Racing driver Egor Orudzhev said. “The car is not easy, mainly because of the rubber. I haven’t driven anything like this before. The grip is worse than with all the other cars that I drove since about 2014. Therefore, it was rather difficult to adapt, but we made progress during these two days, and therefore I have a pleasant impression on the tests.”
