On April 27-28, Irina Sidorkova, the driver of the SMP Racing junior program, took part in the second round of the Formula 4 Spain Championship at the Circuit Paul Ricard, France.

It was the first race for Irina on the track in Le Castellet so she spent the first sessions on studying its configuration. In two qualifying sessions, Sidorkova showed the 18th result, but during the race she was able to greatly improve it. In the three races she finished 11th,14th and 15th respectively. At the end of the second race, Irina claimed the win in the Female Trophy.

"In general, I can say that I was pleased with the second round of the Formula 4 Spain Championship," Irina Sidorkova commented. "I especially liked the second race, where I had a good battle with Belen Garcia. I figured out how to overtake, attack and defend my position. I think this is a valuable experience that I managed to get during the weekend. Paul Ricard is a very difficult track, but I really liked it. It is great for formula cars with its wide, perfect surface and excellent configuration. I’ve got more confidence with the car this weekend and was able to improve my lap time and show the best result for myself. Of course, the rivals also gain experience, become stronger, and that’s why I believe that the championship only becomes more and more interesting."

The third round of the Formula 4 Spain Championship will take place on May 25-26 at the Aragon circuit in Spain.
