The competitions of the SMP Formula 4 Championship were held together with the SMP RCRS, where SMP Racing driver Kirill Ladygin earned the win in the Touring class on Sunday.

“It turned out to be a good weekend in Myachkovo,” Pavel Bulantsev said. “We topped the first practice session but had to retire in the second one due to technical reasons. The qualifying was successful - we took pole position even despite the weather conditions: it is very difficult to warm up the tyres at such a low temperature, and the track itself was quite dusty. But we managed to build a 0.7 seconds gap from the nearest rival and win the qualifying session. In the Saturday race, I lost one position at the start, but then I was able to gain it back. The car wasn’t stable yet. Sunday's race I started from pole position again and confidently was keeping the lead and having a high pace, the car was stable and we warmed up the tyres well. At some point, a safety car appeared on the track, and our gap from the pursuers disappeared, but we managed to calmly win the race, scoring points that are very important for the overall standings.”

“This round was very unusual for me, and I was lucky in the second race,” Irina Sidorkova added. “In the first race I started fifth, I was able to gain one position only and keep it until the finish, but in the second race I did not have a very good start, plus there were problems with the pace, and I was dropping back from my rivals. Soon, the guys in front had contact, and I was able to move up to third position. A safety car appeared on the track, after which Alexey Nesov passed me, but I was able to stay in the top three and finished on the podium, in third place, and I’m very happy about it.”

The sixth round of the SMP Formula 4 Championship will take place together with the sixth round of the SMP RCRS on August 17-18 at the Moscow Raceway circuit.
