On April 20-21, the Fort Grozny Autodrom in Grozny (Chechen Republic) hosted the first rounds of the SMP Russian Circuit Racing Series (SMP RCRS) and the RAF Formula 4 Championship.

Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Republic, and Boris Rotenberg, the founder and head of the SMP Racing - a unique Russian national motorsport development program, opened the racing season at the Fort Grozny Autodrom.

I am pleased to visit the Grozny Fortress, one of the best tracks in Russia, in the capital of the Chechen Republic, Boris Rotenberg, founder and head of the SMP Racing program said. Every new season of the SMP Russian Circuit Racing Series, the main motorsport competition of our country, traditionally kicks off here in Grozny annually. The 2019 season of the SMP Formula 4 Championship takes places here for the first time and I am sure the audience will also like it. It is worth noting that the Grozny Fortress was the first track that opened the doors to our SMP Racing Academy, which is designed to prepare young Russian motorsport drivers for participation in Russian and then international competitions. I believe that soon the world of motorsport will hear the names of Russian racing drivers, who trained here in Grozny.
We see how much attention the Republics leadership pays to motorsport and especially to its junior programs. The motorsport academy, which we saw today at the Grozny Fortress, is an example of a well-built training system for young drivers. Everything is done here with the soul and care of young members, with an attention to every detail.

The SMP Racing Academy was opened at the Grozny Fortress Autodrom in 2017. Its members are children from the age of 7 years old who study the theoretical part of motorsport competitions, have training sessions on simulators and sports cars. Boris Rotenberg talked to the young members of the Academy and looked at the technique that the guys use to get their first motorsport skills.

During the racing weekend, Boris Rotenberg and Ramzan Kadyrov held award ceremonies, presenting cups to winners of the competitions, including a special prize - the Chechen Republic Cup.

I am sure that the competitions were very interesting for the spectators at the track, Boris Rotenberg commented. As we have seen, the tribunes were full, which indicates a big interest in motorsport. We know that Ramzan Akhmatovich Kadyrov personally and the entire leadership of the Chechen Republic are doing everything possible so that the audience loves this wonderful type of sport and the result of these efforts is visible today on the tribunes and on the track.
